Sinclair has been working for the reclusive Alexander for two years, under the direction of his personnel assistant, Jim. Even though she works as Alexander’s second personnel assistant, she has never met him. Sinclair has developed a professional friendship with Marcus, the private pilot who transports and assists Sinclair while looking for new properties.

Marcus is hesitant about letting Sinclair know his real identity. He was badly burned in the past and is intent on protecting his heart and assets. He really desires Sinclair though, and decides to make a trip to a BDSM resort look like a routine property evaluation. On a sultry Caribbean island, Marcus plans to show Sinclair how much he wants her, how much he wants from her, and who he really is in her life Sinclair loves the beautiful location and when the chance to have an affair with Marcus presents itself, she worries about the repercussions but will not waste the opportunity. When the truth is revealed, her whole life is thrown into chaos.

It took me a moment to accept the premise, but I found Wicked Lies to be a charming and entertaining book, if a bit predictable. The friendship between Marcus and Sinclair was the keystone allowing readers to accept their intense sexual trust. What I truly liked about the sex scenes was how the BDSM element expanded as they openly discussed how they felt and what they wanted. It was Sinclair who risked telling Marcus what she was afraid of, and this made Marcus’ secret so much more painful. This was written with such style that even though I knew what was going to happen, I was moved by the final outcome.
