Review To Die For...

Woohoo! 5 stars from JERR For To Die For!

Amy, a forensic scientist with the Knoxville Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, has been working on dissecting a sample of a vampire’s blood for medicinal purposes. Unfortunately, Kaelen, who catches the bad guys for the Council, doesn’t want her to continue her work as her findings will ensure that his people will be hunted by humans. But someone wants him out of the picture, which puts Amy in the line of fire.

I just love Amy and Kaelen right from the very first paragraph of To Die For. Amy is a smart, spirited and courageous woman who doesn’t fall for any of Kaelen’s tactics while Kaelen is a stubborn, arrogant and a very controlled vampire whose distaste for humans is legendary. What baffles them both is that they can’t seem to stay away from each other and they can’t figure out why. This mutual lust gets stronger as they get to know each other. The danger Kaelen is in only intensifies this mounting attraction and ignites their love scenes. The love scenes are wild, erotic, dominating and so full of passion that you’ll need to crank up that air conditioner even if it’s winter outside. I love how Kaelen’s well controlled persona is shattered by a mere human like Amy; she definitely puts him in his place. Kaelen’s hard exterior and mysterious, menacing past give him quite a dangerous persona but Amy brings out a softer more caring side of him which only made me like him even more.

To Die For is the fourth story in the Magic series and I found myself loving the secondary characters. Stacey, Vincent and Jason from the third story, Deadly Crimson, help Amy and Kaelen with their adventure. This is the first I’ve read in this series and I would suggest reading in chronological order so as to better understand more about Kaelen, Vincent and Jason’s world. Ms. Michaels has created an exciting vampire and witches environment and I look forward to knowing more about this fascinating world of theirs.
